Our high-quality digs for registered theatre professionals are located between Wimbledon and Colliers Wood, just ten minutes walk from Colliers Wood Northern Line Underground. You can walk to Wimbledon Theatre (just over a mile) or take the 200 or 152 bus into Wimbledon’s centre on Church Road, or take the nearby tram direct in to Wimbledon mainline Station or Merton Park Tramstop (for bottom of Russell Road and the theatre). A fantastic location while working at New Wimbledon Theatre

Wimbledon is not only home to one of the world’s greatest sporting events, the Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis Club – although its status as one of only four Grand Slams on the world tennis stage brings international visitors flocking to SW19 each summer. Wimbledon’s high street and Broadway offer sophisticated and extensive shopping, the renowned New Wimbledon Theatre, IMAX cinema and a captivating, cosmopolitan range of cafes, bars and restaurants. Up the hill from the town centre (or Bus 200 from Church Road), the chic charm of Wimbledon Village manages to combine the best of town and country, opening out on to Wimbledon Common.

200 bus from Church Road direct to Wimbledon Police Station/Centre Court Shopping Centre, every 7-10 mins

152 bus from intersection of Church Road/Runnymede Stop J to Wimbledon Fire Station (2 blocks away from Wimbledon Theatre), every 9-13 mins

Night bus N155 from Aldwych/Trafalgar Square, West End to Colliers Wood Station, every 15 mins 23.45-05.15 (however all night 24H Northern Line Tube Service runs Fridays and Saturdays!)

Tram: Phipps Bridge Tram Stop

8 min walk. Runs to Wimbledon Mainline Station, appx every 8 mins or alight at Merton Park Tramstop for theatre, walk up footpath and turn right on to Kingston Road, then left down Russell Road to Wimbledon Theatre)

Train: Wimbledon Mainline Station (District Line/Overground/Tram, Zone 3)

Take 200 bus to Centre Court. Waterloo 15 mins (overground) Heathrow 55 mins (Undergound) Gatwick 43 mins (overground)


Guests working at Wimbledon Theatre have regularly used Parker Car Service (tel: 020 8560 0000) who charge around £6.00-8.00 to the theatre from the house. Uber is usally around £5.00-6.00 to Wimbledon Theatre.

Leisure & Fitness

The closest gyms to the digs are Jett's Gym and Nuffield Gym & Pool Merton Abbey (5 min walk). In South Wimbledon down the street from Wimbledon theatre Better Gym and Spa London includes swimming pools and full day spa, along with the YMCA Wimbledon. There are a wealth of activities and facilities available for both adults and children in the borough: tennis, golf (including the prestigious London Scottish Golf Club, football, rugby, dance, swimming, athletics, riding, boating, squash and much more. The Tandem Retail Park (5 min walk) is home to a wide range of useful stores and favourites including: Starbucks, Boots, Holland & Barrett, Next, WH Smith, T.K. Maxx, Sports Direct, three chain restaurants including Nandos and more.

River walks on the nearby River Wandle start just 5-10 mins walk away from the digs (cross Church Road, walk down Haslemere Ave) leading in one direction to Deen City Farm and the picturesquse Merton Abbey Mills site with its range of eateries and craft markets. In the other direction the river path leads to the delightful National Trust Morden Hall Park (10 min walk) with beautiful open spaces, historic mills, cafes, bookshop, craft exhibits and the National Trust’s only Garden Centre. The protected Wimbledon Common (93 bus from South Wimbledon Tube or Centre Court) is one of the capital’s largest open spaces at 1,100 acres and connects directly to Richmond Park and Puthey Heath. Other great green spaces include Wimbledon Park with astroturf and hard court tennis, beach vollyeball, athletics, a boating lake and Wimbledon Park Golf Club and there are smaller parks and green spaces throughout the borough.
